Adding the Otherwise criteria to a mapping rule

When defining a mapping rule in the Route Resolver Rules form (on page 1), you may want to differentiate one type of container from all the other types of containers. For example, you may want to search for vessel visits in a carrier service for specific line operators and search for all vessel visits for all of the other line operators. You do this by adding an Otherwise criterion to the mapping rule filter criteria.

The Otherwise criterion enables you to add an else statement for all If statements that you define at one level. For example, using the above scenario, use the If statement to include FCL containers and an Otherwise statement for all the other containers.

To add an Otherwise criterion:

  1. Use the steps defined in the Route Resolver Rules form to add filter criterion.

The filter criterion appears as an If statement in the filter pane.

  1. If more than one level of criteria are defined, select the filter criteria for which you want to add the Otherwise criterion.

For more information on adding nested sub-criteria, see Adding nested sub-criteria to a mapping rule (on page 1).

  1. Click Add Otherwise.

The Otherwise criterion is added to the list of criteria in the filter pane as shown below.

You can add an Otherwise statement only after you have added at least one If statement. In addition, you can add only one Otherwise criterion at each level of nested sub-criteria.

  1. After you define the Otherwise criteria, you must set the value for the Otherwise criterion (on page 1) to specify the action N4 will take for the containers identified by the Otherwise criterion.
